Teaching Exams

Candidates aspiring to secure Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in Indian colleges and universities appear for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). This national level exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Teacher Eligibility Test or TET is a national and state level exam conducted for recruiting teachers in central or state schools. Qualified candidates can apply to schools and would have to go through the interview process. They will be recruited for:

• Primary Teachers (PRTs): For classes I-V

• Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs): For classes VI-X

• Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs): For classes XI-XII

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)

It’s a national-level exam held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) twice a year for appointing teachers for classes 1-8.  Candidates planning to teach Classes 1-5 are required to give Paper-I and for Classes 6-8 Paper- II. Some candidates aspire to teach all the classes, in that case, they need to appear for both the papers.

Paper - 2

There are 4 sections and the candidates have to choose between Social Studies and Mathematics & Science. There will be a total 150 questions and the time duration is 2.5 hours.
