The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) every year for students seeking admission in medical/dental/Ayush courses. It is known to be one of the toughest exams and is mandatory to qualify NEET Exam to take admission in top undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BSMS and BUMS. Aspiring candidates appearing for NEET Exam must know the exam eligibility, pattern, marking scheme to prepare well for the exam.
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board.

1. What is NEET Exam?
NEET Exam referred to as National Eligibility Cum Entrance Exam. It is a single level national entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency(NTA) for admission in the top medical colleges of India. Aspiring students who want to pursue medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BSMS, and BUMS must qualify NEET Exam to get admissions in medical colleges.
2. How NEET marks are calculated?
Four marks will be given for each right answer. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. No negative marking on unanswered questions.

The total number of questions in the NEET exam comprises 180 questions. Each question will contain 4 marks.

NEET Exam is conducted once a year for medical aspirants to get admission in top medical colleges. It is compulsory to obtain minimum 50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category candidates in 12th Board.

A good score in NEET differs for different colleges. To fall in the top 100 NEET AIQ, candidates must score at least 670-690 marks.

11. How many marks are required in the NEET Exam for government college?
As 15% seats are reserved for AIQ and the remaining 85% seats are reserved for state quota, candidates under general category are eligible with minimum 134 marks(50%) and candidates under SC/ST/OBC are eligible with minimum 107 marks(40%)
12. Can compartment students apply for NEET Exam?
Yes, compartment students can apply for NEET exam if students have passed the compartment examination along with the mandatory subjects required for the NEET Exam with a minimum 50% in all subjects.
13. How many attempts are allowed in NEET Exam?
Earlier it was restricted that one can attempt for NEET exam a maximum three times but now a candidate can attempt NEET exam as many times he/she wants.
